UNBOXING AND REVIEWING THIS MONTH'S GLOSSYBOX...

This month I am lucky to be reviewing my first GLOSSYBOX. GLOSSYBOX are celebrating being five years old this August so in celebration, they have collaborated with luxe accessory label Rae Feather to make a special box.

First of all, I must point out how perfect the packaging itself is - it's incredibly pretty! The box itself is in good form, and is clearly made from strong material - I don't think I'll be able to throw it away! I should mention that my GLOSSYBOX actually arrived in another cardboard box in the post for extra protection, but I obviously haven't photographed that as it felt unnecessary. After unpacking, this month's goodies were found all neatly laid out on a bed of shredded tissue paper - another pretty and thoughtful detail that I was impressed by. The box also held an information handout that contained details of the box and the products inside (of which I shall quote throughout this post in addition to my own thoughts).

Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask - mudmasky.com £53

First up is this luxury Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask, and oh-my-god it is incredible! With an RRP of £53, I wouldn't have expected it to be rubbish of course, but I was still so pleasantly surprised with how cleansed and purified it actually made my skin feel. I tried this product out with my boyfriend - it is not just for girls, boys! You must apply a thin layer to your face and leave it to dry for an amount of time depending on your skin type, for example if you have dry skin then it is recommended to be left on for 7 minutes, normal skin should be left for 9 minutes, and oily skin 11 minutes. We both left ours on for about 9 minutes and found that our skin felt so much cleaner and clear after use. On the packaging, Mudmasky did warn that you may experience a slight tingling sensation, which we did, but it wasn't unbearable and it did make me feel like it was doing a good job with cleaning out my pores. The only thing I would say I found difficult, although it isn't really avoidable with this style of mask, was that once it dried my face felt incredibly tight and I couldn't wait to wash it off and get my facial expressions back. Overall, I love this product. Although, I am sad about how expensive it is full size, but I guess you get what you pay for! I would rate this about a 9 out of 10, but I am not sure I would want to spend just over £50 on a face mask...

GLOSSYBOX 'Discover The Box': "One of the first PH-balanced facial treatments, this is one almighty mask. It's formulated using all natural ingredients and contains no paragons, but still manages to thorougly detoxify skin. It doesn't stop there though, it also refines and tightens pores, hydrates, brightens, and smootgs skin and generally gives it a boost - this mask really does do it all! Use it once a week for a healthy, glowing, and detoxified complexion."

Deep Pore Facial Cleansing Brush - spatoyou.com £6.99

I must say that I have never owned a similar product to this brush. Since recently becoming more interested in skincare, I was definitely intrigued to try this one out! As opposed to a cleanser or a lotion, this product is more of a tool that will enhance the results of a cleansing product and ensure that they work to their full potential. I used this brush to assist my Clarins cleansing milk this morning, and I found that it did make me feel like I was giving my skin a slight better clean. By paying more attention to my facial skincare, I feel this tool helped to brush away any dead skin cells, and ensure that my cleanser was worked into my skin even more efficiently. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft the bristles of the brush were, and loved the idea of the silicone cushions mixed in between to improve microcirculation. However, I do always feel that for a girl that loves wearing makeup pretty much daily, white is such a risky colour. In comparison to the previous product, I can't help but feel that the mask is more of a product where you see the results straight away after one use. With this Facial Cleansing Brush, I do believe that it does improve your circulation, and will help to remove and wipe away any dead skin cells, however I think the results are less visible straight away.

GLOSSYBOX 'Discover The Box': "First there was cleansing balm, then oil and now we're introducing you to the cleansing brush, which pros-in-the-know have been using for years. The soft bristles are specially designed to help buff away dead skin cells for a deep but gentle cleanse. The combination of silky soft bristles and silicone cushions also help to massage the skin to improve microcirculation for renewed radiance. Wet the brush and use it with your normal cleanser."

MUA Eyeshadow Palette - muastore.co.uk £4

I am pretty sure that the first eyeshadow palette I ever owned was the MUA 'Heaven and Earth' palette, so when I saw this MUA palette in my GLOSSYBOX this month it did bring a little smile to my face. Considering this palette is £4 and you get 12 glamorous shades, this palette is surprisingly good!  I am a fan of natural toned eyeshadow shades, so this set of subtle browns, nudes, and smoky tones suited me and my style well. This palette is referred to as the 'Hall Of Fame' palette, as it includes "the ultimate collection comprised of MUA's favourite shades from our ever popular existing palettes.  'Hall Of Fame' features a few matte shades, but most have a slight shimmer to them which I'm glad about as I do like to switch between both. I have to say, my personal favourite shades in this palette are probably 'Catacomb' (bottom, second in from the left), and 'Lion' (top, third in from the left). I am not overly keen on the application tool that you get with it, but generally I perfer make up brushes as opposed to make up sponge applicators. I apply my eyeshadows using a makeup eyeshadow brush and they apply just as well, if not better.

GLOSSYBOX 'Discover The Box': "We gave you the chance to choose your favourite eyeshadow palette from MUA's four best-sellers. Each one is highly pigmented, offering twelve on-trend eye colours that you can mix, match and blend in numerous ways to create any look you want. If you missed the opportunity to pick your palette, don't worry: we have chosen one for you. Enjoy!"

Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion - cowshedonline.com - £20

I don't know anyone that doesn't like the smell of lemons, so this lotion should be such a pleaser for most. This luxury lotion is a natural blend of Lemongrass, Ginger and Rosemary, and it smells delicious! I think the thing that I am most impressed with is the smell of it, my skin smells even more wonderful today. I also love the fact that it's natural; I much prefer the thought of rubbing natural ingredients into my skin rather than artificial chemicals. This lotion does exactly what it says on the tin, it moisturises. Not only that, I have noticed that it does make me feel more awake - which is odd to say that a body lotion can do that. I have noticed that it leaves a cool sensation feeling on your skin once you have applied, therefore making me feel ready of the day and more awake. This is such a good morning product, and would be great in assisting starting off your day right!

GLOSSYBOX 'Discover The Box': "As well as giving you an energy buzz with it's boosting blend of Lemongrass, Ginger and Rosemary, this luxe body lotion deeply moisturises skin with Shea and Cocoa Butters. Made in England using natural ingredients, it is packed full-of-skin loving essential oils and has a light, uplifting oriental fragrance. Apply liberally all over the body and massage into skin using circular motions to increase circulation."

Rae Feather Mini Monogram Pochette - raefeather.com £20

It's fair to say I got so excited by this piece! I knew GLOSSYBOX had collaborated with Rae Feather on this month's box in celebration of their 5th birthday, but I didn't realise that it would include a luxury and exclusively designed makeup bag! This brand has become popular amongst celebrities and bloggers in recent months, and their personalised accessories are stunning. I love the colour combination of the design on this bag. Although, it is slightly sad that it doesn't have my initials on, but it is understandable that that would have caused so much hassle for everyone to have their own personalised bag sent out. This bag is the perfect size for me to just pop in my handbag and carry around my makeup essentials when I am out and about. Big thank you to GLOSSYBOX & Rae Feather for this one, it's gorgeous!

GLOSSYBOX 'Discover The Box': "Fashion bloggers and celebrities alike are obsessed with Rae Feather's luxury accessories. The monogrammed palm straw clutches, totes and baskets have graced the arms of Poppy Delevigne and Louise Redknapp and were spotted on the beach with Coleen Rooney (to name just a few). Join the jet set with this mini monogrammed pochette, which has been exclusively designed for GLOSSYBOX by Rae Feather to celebrate our birthday! It is perfectly proportioned for stuffing all your makeup essentials."

Overall, my verdict of my first ever GLOSSYBOX is a very pleasantly surprised one! I didn't realise what great products would actually be sent out for us to try, and I have to say I haven't been really disappointed with any of the products in this month's box. However, my product of the month has to go to the Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask from mudmasky.com - what a fantastic mask! I am honestly so impressed, and so happy with the results on my face! Farewell dirty pores! If you would like to set up a subscription to GLOSSYBOX of just find out more about them, you may do so here. Also, if you use the code below you can add 3 extra products to your box this month worth £20!
